We are very excited to be launching Studio831: Senior Style for the 2010-2011 school year. Our new portfolio of senior portraits is now under development and we can’t wait to show it off. We are currently looking for Studio831 Senior Style Reps from high schools in RI and Southeastern MA. Please email us if you are interested in an application or visit the Studio831photography website and fill out the form in the contact section.
Studio831photography Style Reps are chosen in order to promote Studio831 Senior Style and studio831photography. Any student within RI and Southeastern Ma that will be a senior during the 2010-2011 school year is qualified to apply. We are looking for seniors with a variety of styles and interests who would love to have some fun in front of the camera! A maximum of 2 Reps from each high school will be accepted.
As a Studio831photography Style Rep, you will receive a free session in the Summer of 2010. The images from this session are used to create the rep cards that you will pass out in your high school and your proof book that you will show to other classmates, web images to post on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, and as promotional images on the Studio831photography website and blog. After your session, you will also have an online gallery of at least 50 of your images to share with friends and family. This is a great way to have modern, fresh, and fun senior portraits taken for free!
For each student you refer with your provided senior rep cards that books a session with Studio831photography Senior Style, you will receive a $25 credit toward your print order, along with several other bonus and incentive offers that will be outlined for you after acceptance into this program. Some of these incentives include additional credits toward prints and products, special VIP pricing, cash and other prizes for the student!
If you are accepted as a Studio831photography Senior Style Rep, you will have the opportunity to review all details in the contract before choosing to accept your place in the program. The contract must be signed by both you and your parent/guardian to allow you to participate.
If you are interested in becoming a Studio831: Senior Style rep, email us before July 15th, 2010 and we will send you an application. Along with your application, please email 2 of your favorite pictures of yourself to: doug@studio831photography.com to complete the application process or become a fan of Studio831photography on facebook.

It's GIVEAWAY time! FREE photo shoot!
- Winston Churchill
That is one of my favorite quotes in life that always comes back around. At all levels of life, we can observe the process of giving and receiving. It’s a dynamic exchange that must exist in order for life to perpetuate itself. Everything at the most basic level is engaged in giving and receiving. Energy is given, energy is received. If giving and receiving is such a fundamental part of life itself, then the same law must also apply to our interpersonal interaction. If we wish to receive, we must first give to others. The more we give, the more we will receive.
We do not and will not run this business like the run-of-the-mill businesses. We are different, we are unique and we are better then the average business. We want to give our time to charities and causes. We want to use our skills and talents in ways other photographers wouldn't and can't.
So there it is. This is real, with no strings attached.
Here's what you do:
-- leave a comment before May 15th
-- tell us your ideal photo shoot location (make sure it fits your personality and style!)
-- check back here after the deadline and see if you are the lucky WINNER!

Michele Gizzi was beloved by everyone in her life. She passed away on March 24, 2008 surrounded by her family after a difficult struggle with fast spreading cancer.Always a Newport girl at heart, the Gizzi Family Run was something that she was very excited about, where everyone could come together in a positive way to celebrate her life and help make a difference for others. She left behind many of her family and friends inspired by her courage.Michele was a registered nurse at the Newport Hospital for 32 years. She was a 1969 graduate of Rogers High School, a 1976 graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and a 1985 graduate of Salve Regina College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Michele was a member of Emmanuel Church and the Newport Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. Caring for and nurturing others was every part of her being.---- How It Started -----------------------------Greg J. Gizzi thought his aunt Michele Gizzi had beat cancer just before Christmas last year. When he learned the cancer came back in January (2008), he said he knew he wanted to do something more to help her and show how much he cared.Gizzi approached Kevin Buck, co-owner of the Newport Athletic Club, several weeks ago and asked for input about holding a fundraiser at the facility to raise money for cancer research. Because one of Gizzi's loves is baseball, he initially thought it would be a fun idea for him to run the entire length of a Red Sox game and get pledges from family and friends. His idea transformed into something much bigger. As Gizzi spread the word, more and more people became interested in participating. In the end, about 50 people took part in the fundraiser, running on Newport Athletic Club treadmills and riding on stationary bikes during the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees game Saturday to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Jimmy Fund.Sadly, Michele Gizzi died March 24 (2008) at age 56, but family and friends said she would have been overwhelmed by the turnout and just so happy.
